FaceCue Documentation¶
FaceCue is a complete facial performance system for Unity. It drives the whole face from your dialogue: the mouth, the eyes, the emotion, the head, the breath. Every part is optional, so you can take the lip sync on its own or the whole performance.
It bakes instructions, cues, rather than animation clips and keyframes. The runtime face then follows those cues, forming each shape by the same linguistic rules real speech obeys. Baking runs offline in the editor, for exact and repeatable results, and FaceCue drives live when the audio cannot be baked.
Where to start¶
-
Getting Started
Requirements, installation, your first character, your first clip, and playing it back. The first hour, in order.
-
Concepts
What a bake is, why the performance still runs live, how language coverage is layered, and the three tiers of the tool.
-
The Baker
Languages and recognizers, backends, the tags you can write into a transcript, and every setting at the depth a first project needs.
-
The performance
One chapter per part: Core, Speech, Emphasis, Emotion, Gaze and Breath.
How this documentation is organised¶
Getting Started is the path from an empty project to a character speaking a baked line. Read it in order.
Concepts is the mental model. Four short pages that make the rest of the documentation easier to read.
The tools each have their own section: the Cue Baker, the Cue Registry, the Cue Clip Composer, the Face Rig Designer, and the Speech Production Tools.
The performance is one chapter per part, at the Basic tier: Core, Speech, Emphasis, Emotion, Gaze and Breath. Advanced and Expert controls are named where they matter and left to the inspector's own help otherwise.
Live Speech and Timeline are the other two ways to drive a face, for audio that was never baked and for a sequenced scene.
Performance carries the whole cost picture, and Integrations covers what FaceCue connects to.
FAQ answers the questions that come up before and just after buying. Troubleshooting is symptom, cause, fix.
